  8. as a "behind-the-scenes account of what's really been going on
  9. in the executive branch for the past eight years," and its
  10. announced print run of 150,000 copies was that of a sure best
  11. seller. But Henry Holt & Co. has quietly decided to cancel
  12. Witness to History by Edwin Meese, Ronald Reagan's Attorney
  13. General. An editor at Holt says Meese has failed to produce:
  14. "The fact is, we didn't get anything. Time had run out. We
  15. decided to stop pretending." The $250,000 advance will not be
  16. paid.
